Mold is a type of fungus that occurs whenever certain parts of an area are exposed to water for a prolonged period. Not all areas would foster its growth. A mold requires certain environmental conditions in order to grow:
• Warmth
• Moisture
• Type of Material (Organic)
It is easy to identify a mold by its odor and appearance. Another sign of mold can be the discoloration or peeling of a surface. If you detect mold, you should immediately go for an inspection.
The most common areas for mold growth are dark places, basements, cellars etc. Some other areas can be the underneath of sinks or hidden areas of various surfaces.
If mold is left untreated, it can soil your furniture and belongings. An untreated mold can be a huge threat to your house. The mold uses warmth and moisture to grow and feeds from the material or the type of surface. This results in damage and ultimately the destruction of the surface. Mold is a risk to health as well. Molds contains spores which when inhaled can cause allergies and various complications.
